I've been having some strange problems with my audio settings lately. To put it simply, all my audio is playing at an extremely high speed. I don't know exactly at what rpm rate (is that the right expression?), but it's way too fast, and it sounds totally weird. My audio card is RealTek AC97, and my system is Win XP. Any suggestions?

Beyond the obvious, no. But here are the obvious ones: Try a different media player, if that one works normally just reinstall the malfunctioning one. See if any audio codecs have been installed recently, if so, remove them and restore the ones that worked. Finally, update or reinstall the drivers for your sound card.
