I have a gateway lap top, and probably a power problem. I bought it a few years ago, and it was working just fine, up until a few months ago. It stayed in my closet for a couple of months and I didnt turn it on. After I turned it on it worked just as long as it was connected to a power cable. The battery was low and it seemed like it can boost its power. Is this a power problem?

I can make it clear from your question if you had any problems with your battery before that quite period of a couple of months. If you had a problem even then, it is clear that you have a power problem, and it is due to a bad battery that needs replacement. It can also be up to the connecting cable. The cable, itself, can be damaged but it might be up to connection port on lap top. Sometimes this is the issue and the battery works just fine. Now you can check up on a couple of things and it is bound to be something, Good luck.
