| Is it true that Firewall can be hardware too? I have been using Zone Alarm for years, and somehow I thought that software firewall is the only kind of firewall that exists. But a friend has mentioned something about hardware firewalls, and I was so sure he is wrong that I even placed a bet on it. Do you know something about it? |

| Well, you have lost the bet, that much is true. I mean, it is a well known fact that there are two types of firewalls – software firewalls and hardware firewalls. Zone Alarm that you have mentioned is just one program among many similar, and which are very often used by companies, but also for personal use. Hardware firewalls can be stand alone devices, but they can also be found in routers, which are used for broadband internet connections |

| So, I lost a bet? Damn: lol: He will be pleased! I just do not know how that can be possible, I mean, how come I knew nothing about it! I mean, I am trying to be updated when it comes to PCs - both the software and hardware. I guess I just never needed that kind of information before, so I have never read about it or something. So, can it be found in any router or just some types of routers?I use router to access the net. Do I have it on mine? |
