| Hi there. I am about to buy a new processor. I dont know how the whole procedure goes with switching the processors, and is it possible for a guy who never did that, to do it him self for a first time, without damaging anything inside? I think that I am able to do so, but I would like some assistance if thats not the problem. Thanks in advance. |

| First thing you should know about that is socket and processor compatibility. You must know which type of processors your motherboard supports. Lets start with the simple tutorial. There are going to be some paper instructions well described inside the box. Together with them near you, you should do the whole thing right. Detach all the cables from the case, and after opening the case, detach all connectors from the motherboard. Unscrew the bolts and pull the motherboard out of the case. Put the motherboard on flat surface with sponge under. Detach the cooler wire from the motherboard and after that the cooler it self, but slowly. There is a simple mechanism. Be careful, dont break something. After you did that. Remove the lever that holds a processor on the socket. Remove the old processor. Now before you put the new one on socket, you should bring some of the thermal paste over it, not too much. And be careful on which side you put the processor. It is marked, use a picture from instructions. After that goes the cooler. And so on the whole procedure again, but reversed. Good luck for the first time. |
