| Hello folks. I am using FileScab personal firewall and my Internet Firewall, the default one inside windows XP SP2 is also running, plus, I am using Nod32 Antivirus system. All protection modules are up and running inside Nod. This means that I really don’t have problems with intrusions and viruses. Anyway, I have heard that by using the DSL router, I don’t need any other firewall, because all of them have one built-in. Is this true? Thanks in advance. |

| Well, in most cases yes, this is true. Why in most cases? Because there is some extra skill required in order to configure the hardware firewall properly. In most cases the default factory settings are quite enough. But, there are always some freaks over the internet which do know how to avoid your protection. So, if your system runs with three firewalls, and you have no problems with ‘tight’ surfing, keep it that way. You’ll never know when the problems might occur. By the way the firewall is always needed. Better to prevent than to cure, right? |
