Hello. I have Linksys WRT54GL wireless outer and three laptops in my home network. I am experiencing frequent slowdowns in internet connection and I suspect that someone else is connected to my router. Is there any way I can find out if there is an intruder in my wireless network? Thank you in advance.
Hello. Log in router configuration page (enter 192.168.1.1 in your browsers address bar and provide valid username and password). Click on “Status” tab and then “Local network”. Click “DHCP clients table” and you will see all computers connected to your router. If someone is connected you can block him and you should pay attention on network security by editing MAC filter list and allowing only computers from your network to access router and choosing encryption type(WEP or WAP, it does not matter).
