I've been hearing stuff that the Raid setup is faster, but then again, some people have been telling me that the speed differences are negligible, and that I wouldn’t even notice them. So, which is it? Links to speed tests would be appreciated. Also are there other significant advantages of a Raid-0 setup, other than speed I mean?

The long and short of the story is, if you're a home desktop user, you're probably not going to benefit much from RAID-0. You'll probably fail to spot a difference comparing it to a single drive. Of course, servers do benefit form RAID in a number of ways, but I don't think that's what you're asking here.
