I am running Mac OSX. I added second hard drive to this computer. When I powered it up and tried to copy some files on it I received error message saying I do not have enough privileges for this operation and it asks me for administrative password. I am logged as administrator but it doesnt matter, obviously. Is an additional hard drive read only, or I am making a mistake here?

Additional hard drive can not be read only. What is the use of it, then? This is a rare problem but solution is not complicated. You will have to fix folder permissions on additional hard drive and you can do it with Disk Utility. You can find Disk Utility in Applications Utilities. Simply select drive that is making you a problem and click Repair Disk Permissions button. Utility will pass through whole file system fixing permissions along the way.
