| Hi all! I have a PC and a laptop and a cable connection. I connect via Linksys modem, and router attached to it. Now I unplugged a router to lend it to my brother, and wanted to connect to the internet directly. So I connected the modem directly to my computer but it doesn’t work! I thought modem died or something, so I put the router back it works again! I remove a router – nothing works! How is this possible? |

| Hello! Have you tried this with both pc and the laptop? I think you might have a problem with LAN connector, or with the cable. It just might be that Router-PC cable is crossover, so you need to put crossover between modem and pc, when you connect them directly. Also, check your modem’s and router’s user manual, and try to set the default gateway address in internet connection. |
