Hello. I have this cheap-ass router-modem combo, the D-Link DSL 5O4T, and it seems to be causing some weird internet behavior. Superficially, the connection is OK, but at random intervals, my browser starts showing a "page cannot be displayed" error for every page I try to access, as if the connection has been dropped. However, my P2P downloads keep working, and even IM programs are OK. It's not the browser, though, coz I've tested a few, and the same thing happens. The problem goes away when I unplug the D-Link, and then plug it back in. Weird, right? Is it possible that the router blocks web traffic exclusively? (BTW, this happens with firewalls on or off, just for therecord.)

Actually, there are other potential culprits that are more probable than your router, mostly because of the selective nature of the problem. Personally, I'd blame it on the ISP, and check with them to see how they're regulating the web traffic.
Still, if you're positive that it's your router, try updating its firmware and see if that improves anything.
