Hi all,
I installed Windows 2000 professional in my machine. I tried to install Internet Explorer 7.0 but it shows the error like "setup could not verify the integrity of the files needed for installation. Make sure the Cryptographic service is running on this computer.". What shall I do? |

That's because Internet Explorer 7 is available only for Windows XP (SP2) and later, including Windows Server 2003 SP1 and Windows Vista.
Not for earlier Windows versions like Windows 2000 or 9x.
Answer from Microsoft:
| Quote: | | IE 7 will ship for XP SP2, XP x64, and Windows Server 2003 SP1 customers only. Though the company could theoretically back-port IE 7 to Windows 2000, Microsoft has decided not to do it. Instead, IE 7 will only be made available to customers running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1). Obviously, a future version (possibly called IE 7.5) will be included in Windows Vista as well. |
So you have this options:
Upgrade your OS to Windows XP (SP2) or keep using IE 6 or some other web browsers like FireFox or Opera.
Cheers! |
