Hi there! Dual Core processors can offer great enhancement in game-playing, but only if the other parts of the system are fast too. If the components are harmonized, the improvement you can get is up to 50% in comparison with single-core processors. This means that you’ll most likely need a faster GPU, faster memory. In my humble opinion, if I’d go for an upgrade because of the gaming performance increasing, I’d definitely start with upgrading GPU first. However, with plenty of fast ram memory, some SLI-based graphic card, you wouldn’t regret spending some bucks more, for a Core 2 processor. I’m not sure, but I think your mobo doesn’t support dual core processors (despite being Socket 775), so you’d most likely need that upgrade, too.
