I have a computer for last two years. Now I want to change some components. A colleague suggest me what type of motherboard, CPU, memory and VGA to buy. Everything suits me except that my new motherboard has integrated sound blaster on it. I always heard that I should choose motherboard with as less integrated components as possible.

That was true in the past. Now, with the constant price reducing, some components became so cheap, that manufacturers are installing them on your motherboard either you want them or not. I don't think that you could find a motherboard nowadays without integrated sound card probably with at least 5.1 support. However, if you want to install separate sound card you can simply turn off integrate one. Anyway, I think the integrate sound card is not worse from all usual sound cards from commercial category. But, if you want to use your computer for some specialized tasks, like composing music or playing music in some halls, you definitely should get some Audigy class sound card.
