| I bought a computer last year. Everything works fine until yesterday. I bought a new, faster CPU. However, my motherboard could not recognize it. Therefore, I downloaded new BIOS from the Internet. After I installed it, I have a problem with DVD burner failure. Should I maybe update my DVD Burner's firmware too? |

| Your problem might not be caused by new BIOS that you installed. Your problem might be the first sign of complete malfunction of your DVD burner. You could try to download and install a new firmware. If that want help you, you should try to check some other DVD burner with your computer. If it also will not work, it might be a problem with new BIOS. In that case, you should first check all the parameters in your new BIOS. It could be that your IDE settings reset on some fault values. If everything is OK, you should try to reinstall your BIOS once more. If that would not help you should check on the Internet is that the right version for your motherboard. Also, try to search on some forums other people experiences with that version of BIOS and your DVD burner. |
