| I have recently god a USB key, and I intended it to be a help in case I run out of the space on my standard drives. It seems to me that I will need to install some programs there, but I am not sure if that is a good idea, as I know it is usually used just for storing the data. If anyone could give me a suggestion, that would be great. Thanks in advance. |

| You are right that USB key is commonly used for storing and carrying data. Aside from the capacity, the biggest difference between them and hard disk is significantly slower performance, meaning you need a lot more time copying a file to a USB key then on a hard disk. Also, accessing the data takes more time. You can of course install a program there and nothing will malfunction because of that, but if it is a type of a program that requires you to be very fast, I would suggest you rather transfer some data from your disk to your USB key and then install the program regularly. Otherwise, you can easily install anything you like on your USB key. |
