I’ve read about some way to increase your bandwidth – it’s not really complicated and in theory it sounds OK but I wanted to check if it really works before trying to apply it. First of all, you have to be logged in as administrator. You should type gpedit.msc in the Windows “run” window. Then you should expand the “local computer policy”, “administrative templates” and “network” branches. After you do this, highlight the “QoS Packet Scheduler” in the left window and in the right window you should double click the “limit reservable bandwidth” setting. Check the ”enabled” box.
And set “Bandwidth limit %” to 0. And that’s it. Does anyone know if this works? |

| I’ve heard about this before but I think that this doesn’t work. It’s based on the fact that Windows seems to keep about 20% of bandwidth for itself and by doing what you described, you should change that to 0%. Still, most of the connections don’t support QoS and that’s why this tweak is useless. I think that you can find more info on this on Microsoft’s official website. |
