Image editing software

Hello. I am very brand new Windows user. I have Windows XP installed as my operating system. My dream was to become professional photographer when I was younger. Now, this is not my dream anymore but I would like to know little more about some good image editing software. If someone wants to recommend a program somewhat better than Paint, I will appreciate that very much. Thanks in advance.

Hello. MS Paint can create miracles, if you know how to use the right technique. Its interface really is somehow empty, it looks like nothing, somehow dull, isn’t it? OK. That’s why most users prefer Corel, Photoshop or Illustrator. If you have strong PC with a lot of ram memory, than try with Illustrator, I think that there is no such thing or task regarding image editing that this program can’t do.
