I recently got cable internet. I know that a lot of people are using internet to download movies and music. Is this completely illegal or is there a way to do it and not break any laws? And were there many cases where people were accused because of illegal downloading or uploading? I live in a small and poor country that most of the people haven’t even heard about and I doubt that we have such laws but how is it where you come from?

I don’t think that you should worry about this. Technically both downloading and uploading is illegal if the material you’re downloading/uploading isn’t approved for it by the author. But once you download something it’s really hard for them to prove where you’ve got it from and I really don’t know that there have been some major lawsuits against common people.
