I need to take apart my Toshiba Satellite A30 to fix a problem with the display – I think there's a loose wire or something, because the display sometimes dies when I move it about. The problem is I don't know how to open the damn thing! I've unscrewed everything, but it's still holding fast. If someone who has done this before could offer some advice, I'd appreciate it.

Don't you just love how tightly Toshibas are built? It's like they don't need the screws at all… I don't have that model, but my Tecra used to need the fasteners at the bottom "unlocked". Check out the "feet" for those little snaps that you can pry open. Other then that, try using a flat object (the dull side of a knife, for example) to get between the edges on the side and gently separate them, first one side then the other, until it loosens.
