Hello! I have here missing size info if I could call it that way, heh. I bought new 2GB RAM and my computer is not registering current adding change, at first didn’t want to turn on and after I have spend some time trying to make him work a bit he was noticing me with some messages how it can’t register recently added device or something and showing just 3GB RAM. I have no idea how computer can suddenly ate 1GB fro no good reason. I mean I know it‘s not eaten, just being confused right now why it is not turning on at the beginning and then not showing the right size? Well until I get the right answer the mystery remains..

And now the spirit of the missing RAM will continue to hunt you ,lol. I don’t think anyone has solved that problem actually. What I heard people complain on that matter often after upgrading the RAM to a bigger then 3GB, even though there were suggestions to switch OS with some 64-bit one like Windows Vista or Linux option, but what I heard it is not the matter of OS so changes won’t solve problem, even though it is the fact that Windows XP 64-bit is asking for 2GB RAM at least because each process can take up to 2GB RAM, so there is the possibility that even with those changes unfortunately that RAM will continue to be partially “missing” one. If you done all the right moves during the installing the reason why your PC doesn’t want to turn is possibility that your motherboard is not supporting that big RAM. Usual reason that is causing the problem is the matter of motherboards using the Intel 945 chipset, even though I don’t think I could put blame only on them, because usually they are not built to recognize more then 3GB RAM, apparently, your BIOS might be smarter on that matter seeing change that is made, but for others it will stay as a unrecognizable, invisible spy that is working undercover on your PC, so you will probably keep on seeing black screen and getting messages from you PC that some things could not been recognized during the start.
