I need some help with my sound card audio settings. I downloaded the audio driver update from the Internet. The file was in ZIP format. I have Windows XP installed on my computer for a long time and everything worked fine until yesterday. However, when I try to open downloaded file and install it I get an error message. Now I have no more sound until that. Can anybody help me?

There is couple of reasons that could cause problem like yours. First, it could be an error in the process of downloading and your ZIP might be damaged. You might try to download it once more and than try to reopen it again. You might not have a proper version of OS installed on your computer. Your version of driver could be for some other OS like Windows 98 or Windows Vista. In that case, you have to find and download a proper version for Windows XP. Third reason for your problem could be that your driver update may need some other add-ons. If that is your problem, you need to download and install them first.
