Hello. I have just established new home network, and I can’t get one of my computers to reach the workgroup. I have 5 PC’s in total and it seems that everything is ok with the rest of the networking hardware. Actually just one HUB and 6 cables with one router. Checked everything on the other machines, the same as on the problematic one, I can browse the internet, but I cannot browse trough other computers and their contents. Why? I sm using XP home, by the way. Thanks in advance.

Hi. Do you have auto-configuration enabled or you have added those IP addresses manually? I have noticed that for some reasons, Windows XP can’t see the computers with particular, unique workgroup names, but it is working with home, the default one. And maybe, that was the case only in my situation. But, in any way, try adding parameters manually, if you didn’t. Turn off DHCP.
