Hello. I added a Dell laptop to the home network the other day, but it doesn't seem to be able to connect. When I try, I'm perpetually stuck on the "acquiring network address" status message, it never changes. All computers are on Win XP. The router is wireless, but the modem & connection are cable. Any advice is appreciated.

My guess would be this is another wincosk issue. To resolve this, use the Run menu and the "cmd" command to get to a DOS prompt, then enter the following: "netsh winsock reset catalog" (minus the quotes, of course).
If this isn't it, I'd recheck the firewall settings, see if it's not what's blocking the laptop from connecting.
