I've had this toolbar appear on my browser window, and I'm positive I hadn't installed it myself. It’s obviously adware of some sort, the searches are fixed, and it seems to be impossible to uninstall. I've tried using the automated online uninstaller they offer, but it doesn't work. I've also tried the add/remove programs window, no luck there either. I'm hesitant to edit the registry blindly. What are my remaining options, then? TIA.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Just google for "BHO Demon", install it, and use it to kill the toolbar. It's a little utility that prevents misuse of browser helper objects (BHOs), and misuse is exactly what the iSearch thing is doing. Then make sure your firewall and add-blockers are up to date, so you don't get stuck with the same (or similar) problem again.
