IE shuts down with an error message

I've been using the internet for last two years and everything worked fine. However, since few months ago, I could not defend from viruses. I even reinstalled Windows few times but it did not help me for a long. After a day or two on the Internet and I have the same problems. Now my IE shuts down with an error message. Are there any better and safer browsers than IE? Should I maybe install strong antivirus as Panda or Norton Internet Security?

There are many other browsers beside the IE. Some of the most popular are Netscape, Mozila Firefox and Opera. Many users think that they are even better and safer then the Explorer. I personally do not think that your problem is related to Explorer using. I am also spending much time on the Internet with Explorer, and I do not have any problems. You just need some reliable anti-spyware software like SpyBot, which is efficient and free. You also need some good anti-virus software, which is efficient. I personally use AVG and I am completely satisfied. If you have Windows XP, you will need Service Pack 2. All those things will not slow your machine much and will give you enough protection. I think that combination will be much more efficient than Panda or Norton Internet Security.
