IE don't work after virus removal

Hello! I have really bad problem. Namely, my system (Windows XP Professional operating system with Service Pack 2) was infected and I have performed virus removal. But, now my IE don't work after mentioned virus removal. Can you tell me what I need to do and what happened with Internet Explorer?

Hello! I assume that some part of virus or whole virus was stored in some important Internet Explorer system files, do, and your antivirus deleted whole system file and because of that your Internet Explorer does not work now. I suggest you to uninstall your Internet Explorer completely and install it again.
