| I have been using the internet for last two years. At the beginning, everything worked fine. However, since few months ago, I could not defend from viruses, especially Downloaders. I even reinstalled my XP few times but it did not help me for any longer. After a day or two on the Internet and I have the virus problems again. Since yesterday, my IE6 cannot be opened in new window. Should I consider replacing my IE6 for some other program? |

| There are other browsers beside the Internet explorer, like Netscape, Mozila Firefox and Opera. Many users think that they are "so much" better then Internet explorer. However, I do not think that your problems are related to using Explorer. I am also spending a lot of time on the Internet, I am using Internet Explorer, and I do not have any problems. You just need some reliable anti-spyware software like SpyBot, which is efficient and free. You also need some good anti-virus software, which is efficient and free. I personally use AVG Free and I am completely satisfied. If you have Windows XP, you will also need SP 2 to be installed. One more thing that I would advise you to do is to get Internet explorer version 7. All those things will not slow your machine much and will give you enough protection. |
