I have been using the internet for last two years. At the beginning, everything worked fine. However, since few months ago, I could not defend from viruses, especially Downloaders. I even reinstalled my XP few times but it did not help me for any longer. After a day or two on the Internet and I have the virus problems again. Since yesterday, my IE6 cannot be opened in new window. Should I consider replacing my IE6 for some other program?

There are other browsers beside the Internet explorer, like Netscape, Mozila Firefox and Opera. Many users think that they are "so much" better then Internet explorer. However, I do not think that your problems are related to using Explorer. I am also spending a lot of time on the Internet, I am using Internet Explorer, and I do not have any problems. You just need some reliable anti-spyware software like SpyBot, which is efficient and free. You also need some good anti-virus software, which is efficient and free. I personally use AVG Free and I am completely satisfied. If you have Windows XP, you will also need SP 2 to be installed. One more thing that I would advise you to do is to get Internet explorer version 7. All those things will not slow your machine much and will give you enough protection.
