It's just that it won't boot, put simply. I've been getting some error messages, but since I don’t have the manual here with me I can't really look them up and I don’t know where to search for them online. So, if someone could tell me what error codes 161 and 163 mean, and how do I correct whatever it is that they signify, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance,

The site to check out would be ibm.com, specifically the support section. The error messages you're getting seem to imply there's something wrong with your CMOS battery. The first one (161) means the backup battery is dead, and the second one (163) that time and date were not set (which is a direct result of 1). You need to replace the CMOS. Follow that link above, you should find guidelines on how to deal with this.
