| Hi folks! I have uninstalled my Norton Antivirus recently, and I am still getting this message that my Norton bla bla bla. I mean, its completely removed, how can my system report me this? When I open a control panel I cannot find Norton anywhere. Whats going on? My OS is Windows Xp with a service pack 2, and I am using Kaspersky for antivirus. Could it be that Kaspersky created a conflict with Norton, is that possible? |

| Well, theoretically its possible. Both are using the same computer resources, like window services, default folders, system files. You cannot use both on your computer at the same time, but you can disable one of them. In your control panel/add remove programs try to find something like a Symantec or Antivirus. It doesnt have to be Norton, you know, names are different for all kinds of files. Maybe there is a Live Update, if you find this one remove it, but when system asks you to keep some files, click no. Close the control panel window. Find a Norton folder and see if its empty. Remove it manually and reboot. Now everything will be fine, I suggest you to tune up your Kaspersky in order not to experience these kinds of problems in the future. Then there is a windows registry issue. There is a chance that some registry entries are still there, so check this by entering regedit in your start/run window. Good Luck! |
