|
|
I made the mistake of using the full version of Kazaa to search for files on P2P networks. It's only later that I learned it was riddled with spyware, and I should get it out of my system ASAP. So, I tried uninstalling it, but that didn't work – it's in the add/remove programs menu, but when I click remove, it just says it experienced an error, and closes. I'm hesitant to just delete the Kazaa folder manually, because I think that can leave traces of it in my system, so now I don't know what to do. Help would be appreciated.

Go ahead and delete the Kazaa folder, you'll just pull out its roots from the registry using HijackThis. HJT is an anti-spyware utility that you can download off the net, and use to clean out whatever spyware got onto your machine, including Kazaa itself. Just find it, download, use it to create a log, and remove registry entries it recommends (including any mention of Kazaa).
