Hi, all! I need to install IIS on my Windows XP but I have problems completing the task. When I try to install IIS, I get a request from an installer for “Staxmem.dll” on a SP2 CD. I insert the cd with service pack, but the installer keeps searching for the file. If I skip this file, the setup process continues, but only for a while, because another dll file appears to be missing, the same message appears. I’ve also tried to insert another copy of SP2, but this didn’t help. Any suggestions for my problem solution? I hope it’s not the “format c” solution…

A friend of mine experienced the exact same problem some time ago. Being less skilled in computers than I, he asked me to find a solution. in the same way as he did, I also asked someone more experienced than myself: google. I’ve run into something I think that might solve your problem. Go to start -> run and type in “esentutl /p %windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb” without the quotation marks. After this run the IIS setup again. Everything should be ok now; at least it was for a dozens of topic responders. I hope it also does for you.
