How to reformat my hard drive?

I have windows 2000 and 98 operating systems. I want to install only XP OS. I have backed up all my data, so Im free to perform clean install. I got recommendations that I should upgrade windows 2000 to XP, but I really dont want to do that. Tell me what the best way is for formatting?

You can use some tool like Partition Magic or you can do that from XP installation disc. My choice would be XP disc. When you boot disc, reboot computer and then press any key to start booting from cd. Wellcome screen will be appear, press enter and continue with installation.
