Custom kernels that I use were upgraded on 3.0 version. When I restart my ubuntu, there are 3 kernels. What is going on? None of them is working, so I cannot use any patches. Desktop get stuck sometimes, and I got to reboot my system. To restore my previous files I cannot even use update manager, because its constantly trying to connect to the internet. What software are you using for automatic updates?

Hi! There are several packages that can help you restore your files. Mdpg is common package that allows you to access your previous versions from console. Restricted modules dont work well with packages. Uninstall linux-generic if youre using one, and go to the console. Type usr/linux/updates/. Then use your update manager to install new package. Be careful not to delete your previous settings. Apparently, you want be able to access it immediately, because module needs to be modified first. And when you switch users remember that linux uses different settings. Virtual user cannot use database but you can change this property by up using newer version of the kernel. There are few tutorials about kernels that can teach you to avoid grant permissions. Remember that almost everything in linux is open source, so there are literally no limitations.
