Hello. I am trying to install Lucent Agere PCI soft modem in Ubuntu 7.04. Ive been trying for a days, but without any luck. This damn thing is not even recognizing my modem and that makes me very, very nervous. I am about to format my hard drive very soon, and to return nicely to Windows XP interface if this doesnt start working. I need help. Thanks.

Hello. I dont know what else to say but just that hardware devices, external devices are really well supported by Linux kernel. For other PCI internal hardware devices, I just dont know what to say. Especially modems. And the most worst thing of all is that the most lowest support has, guess which brand? Lucent Agere based chipsets.
