I was really satisfied with my Win XP Home Edition since I had no problem with it for about two years. But unfortunately I had to reformat my boot drive about a week ago. I had mirrored my OS before that on another HD I have. Now I’m using that HD as my boot drive but I have a huge problem since I can’t install drivers anymore. What can I do to fix this?

I can think of two things you could try. First, try logging on as administrator and then you should be able to see the default local account in control panel. Or try this second option: use the MMC, choose ‘local users and groups’ and snap-in so that you might modify the templates regarding user rights. I hope that will at least one of these help you with your problem.
