| I have windows XP on my computer. Recently I decided to install linux (dual boot). But, all partitions I have are formatted as NTFS. How I can install linux without destroying windows XP installation? I suppose I have to make some space for linux. Advice me how to do that, please. |

| You will have to make some room on your hard drive before anything else. Typically you will not need more then 2 GB of free space for linux and, let say, 512Mb for swap. You can partition your hard either from some third party tool like PartitionMagic or during linux installation. My option would be to use something like PartitionMagic. You will have to create at least two partitions, one smaller for swap and other for linux. Swap partition format as linuxswap and for the other partition choose a file system like reisefer or ext3. |
