I’ve noticed that some sites are made so that the contents stays in the middle of the screen regardless of the resolution you’re using. I think it’s really neat and would like my web page to be that way but I don’t have a clue about setting that up. I’m using dreamweaver but I can’t seem to find that option. Could anyone give me a hint?

There is quite a simple way of doing this I think. You should set your content into a table that is sized at a percent instead of setting it to a fixed size. As I said it is very easy to do, but difficult if you want to do it well because you need to choose the right percentage. If you’re still not sure on how to do it, write again and I’ll write the full explanation but you sound like someone who’s already experienced in making web pages.
