I mean the sound, graphic card, bluetooth, etc. I didnt get most of these things to work under Linux, but my good old buddy and he is a Linux Freak, who helped a lot. But, he cant do anything more too. He just doesnt know how to bring Genius Web Cam Express to duty. Help me please, I am beginning to think that my webcam has got malfunctioned. |

| Why are you nervous because of piece of hardware? It just obeys. And everything has its own procedure and rules. Now, I am trying to help only because I felt so sorry about you, and that is not putting me in position as Expert. So I am going to be more as some kind of guide, do not expect miracles right away. You already know that you must be a root user or execute commands with sudo. You must download some files or headers which will make your drivers to work. Headers are always responsible for the correct kernel, which must be up to date in your case. That goes with apt get command. Than try to find the location for Genius Web Cam Drivers under Linux. When you have located the link, paste it in the console but with wget command first. Everything you download, please put in the home directory. Unpack the archive and put it in the right folder. After unpacking, installation of drivers follows. Thats the make install command. After that, you can choose which program you can use to see what is webcam doing. There are several programs for it. For the end, keep in mind that your Genius Web Cam, maybe, never can work under Linux, because there is no software support, which is sometimes the guilt of manufacturer. |
