| I use Windows 2000 OS on my computer. Considering that I dont use one usb port and floppy drive, I want disable it. I have to say that I am not versed about it. I tried to find on the internet tutorial, but everything Ive found mentioning some console recovery. Sincerely speaking, Ive found very good tutorial how to start it, but Im a little bit afraid to use it. Ill be very grateful if you tell me how to do disabling these devices using this console. If you have good start tutorial, then a half job is already done. Dont worry about starting it, you cant make damage if you precisely follow steps. When you have started recovery console, type following command:
disable FloppyDrive
After youve typed it, press enter on your keyboard. Same procedure for USB port. If you are not sure what the correct name of your devices are, first type
listsvc
This command will list you all devices and drivers on your hard drive.
