How to compile initrd image adding new network drivers?

O, my nervous! I tried to install properly network card in linux distro and it wasnt loaded. Then I have typed hwinfo netcard to get information about it, extracted the INITRD to edited; went to its vendor web site and download drivers, installed sles 9, compiled the nic driver and thats it. I know that I have to mount initrd, but no how

You should mount INITRD: copy it to root directory create new folder in root rename initrd to initrd.gz unzip file mount file (# mount -o loop initrd work) copy nic drivers to inittrd add parameter newid (vendorid) (deviceid),(drivername) to linuxrc.config unmount work folder in shell (# umount work) zip initrd file now rename initrd.gz to initrd copy initrd to thumb drive create bootcd.iso load bootcd.
