I had a problem with my cpu getting too hot and so I asked a friend who was always bragging about being a computer expert for help. He told me that I need to take off the heatsink, clean it, apply cooling paste and put it back together. He did that but in the end it turned out that it’s even worse now. I suppose that he’s done something wrong and I wanted to know is there a way I could fix this. Thanks!

There are quite a few things he could have done wrong so I’ll take a wild guess. He might have put too much cooling paste and it may have clogged the heatsink. To see if that’s the case, take it apart again, clean up the paste that’s been applied , apply it again in a thinner layer and reattach the heatsink. I hope this helps.
