| I'm an aspiring web designer, and so far I've had scant success landing jobs. One of the things that I think I might be missing out on is a quality portfolio. How important is that, really? Do businesses make the cut decision based merely on glancing over a portfolio, because it sometimes feels that way to me? Any tips on building one? |

| Heh. I feel your pain there… well, used to feel it, at any rate. Portfolios in general are important, though don't make the mistake of thinking they are essential (as in, all you need is a good portfolio). You'll need to know your stuff and prove it, not just chalk everything up to a decent portfolio. As for tips, there are some excellent ones here: http://webdesign.about.com/b/a/256134.htm |
