| Hi, I would like to create my own server. My question is, if I use static IP, would I be able to run a DNS server on Ubuntu? How to change my DNS record on a console? I know a couple of sites that can enable my OS to use static IP, but what I dont know is, is that safe? Any suggestions? I also use Php, Mozzila, dBase and mysql. Should I try some optimization methods? Apache uses a great deal of memory, so that is out of the question. |

Well, if you are using an Ubuntu you shouldnt expect much. Linux is not the best option for tracking. I have heard of some excellent graphical user interfaces such as MySQsLCC, gMyS2QLCC, etc. SQL has algorithms that let you use it with a small amount of memory. You should consider editing line: etc/mysq/users/. If that doesnt work, youre doomed Im kidding. Running a server on Ubuntu can be a hard job, but with a several adjustments thing are going to be fine. First thing to do: adjust values: wait_timeout60 , connect_timeout20, interactive_timeout1200, join_buffer_size2M,
query_cache_limit32M. Second thing to do is opening a browser. And finally, log on on a server. Voila!
