| Well, you should follow these steps. Go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. Select the Norton antivirus and see if there is something similar to it. Sometimes there are two folders with antivirus definitions, and people make a mistake when they delete only one. So, pay attention, and remove both of them. Perhaps it is called differently form Norton, like Symantec or Antivirus protection. Now go to my computer and find default Norton folder. Remove it manually by pressing shift-delete. Now you wont even find it your recycle bin. Next step is a bit trickier. Find Norton antivirus folder in your windows registry database. You will accomplish this by clicking run-regeditor. Then, go to hkey-local machine and search the software tab. Form that point delete everything you find about Norton. Now you are done. Reboot and select the no I dont want to receive Norton updates. |
