How can I fully remove Norton from my PC? It is recommended to do Windows reinstalls from time to time so I want to do it. Norton is the catch 22 and I want to delete it completely. You know, I dont want anything to stay in my windows registry base. So is there a way to access Norton folder in registry editor? Once I tried to remove an antivirus by deleting but some files remained. So I decided to uninstall it completely this time.

Well, you should follow these steps. Go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. Select the Norton antivirus and see if there is something similar to it. Sometimes there are two folders with antivirus definitions, and people make a mistake when they delete only one. So, pay attention, and remove both of them. Perhaps it is called differently form Norton, like Symantec or Antivirus protection. Now go to my computer and find default Norton folder. Remove it manually by pressing shift-delete. Now you wont even find it your recycle bin. Next step is a bit trickier. Find Norton antivirus folder in your windows registry database. You will accomplish this by clicking run-regeditor. Then, go to hkey-local machine and search the software tab. Form that point delete everything you find about Norton. Now you are done. Reboot and select the no I dont want to receive Norton updates.
