| Hi! I have a brand new SyncMaster with 1600x1200 resolution. It works well on Xp, but not on a Linux. I dont know why, but each time I want to adjust it, monitor blinks, and show the same resolution. I am using new drivers for my graphic card, and I dont have any problem with it. Oh yes, I didnt mention that I am using Ubuntu distribution. Maybe I should change it to RedHat? |

| You dont have to change your distribution. Ubuntu is a great distribution and it has beautiful graphical interface, please dont change it. Go to the console, and type following lines. etc/x11/v.cfg/ than sudo/getedit. There is horizontal and vertical screen resolution. Both can be changed in the hands of a master. You should see on the screen, monitorrange. Here you can see what your present resolution is. To change it just type 1200 for vertical and for horizontal. Be sure that proportion is the same as previous. Problem that youre experiencing could be bad Linux version. Check on the internet does your version support 1200x1600. If yes than you must download some fix, or ask someone to do it for you. |
