Hello! I have heard about this term but I’m not sure what exactly it is. Is it some kind of virus that “steals” your browser so you cannot visit any site? A friend gave me a set of anti-virus programs and he said it would be enough from protecting my computer from hijacking browser. What else should I pay attention to?

Hello! Antivirus program is a must-have, but you also must install anti-adware and anti-spyware programs, such as Lavasoft Adaware. But even after that you need to be very careful while surfing the net – if you see some special, free offers and “click to download free” windows, ignore them. They may contain a browser hijacking application.
