AV software is slowing my PC terribly! CPU usage is very high and since I’m constantly connected on the net, I have serious problem because I have to limit the number of application I start in order to avoid the complete throttle! I use Norton Anti-Virus Suite and it is really good. No virus has entered my PC since I’ve started using it, but this is really a nuisance. How to solve it?

Unfortunately, as far as I know you can either upgrade your PC so that it can support such demanding software such as Norton AV or you can change AV software. I also used Norton, but that was about the only program that I could run at the time, since whatever else I tried to start, the complete fuss occurred. I had to wait for several minutes in order to open any file, and surfing was almost impossible. Maybe you can try one of those free AV programs which are pretty small and don’t use up too much CPU. I recall trying NOD 32 software and it was very good, but I had to switch to professional software. Or, maybe there are certain settings for using less CPU that you can adjust.
