I need help with Compaq Presario 1200. When I press power on button nothing happens. I can hear that fans are not spinning and that hard drive is not starting. Same symptoms are when I connect laptop to AC adapter. Do you know what might be the problem with my laptop?

This sounds like some power circuit or component (motherboard?) failure. I am sorry to say but there is no fix here. You will have to take laptop to authorized Compaq dealer for repair. At the worst case scenario, if there was some power failure, laptop will be beyond repair and you will have to buy a new one.
