| First of all you have to ask yourself why do you need computer. Is it some usual office work, playing games, video editing etc. Depending on that answer you can build more or less expensive computer. So lets start. Processor should be 64 bit dual core. It is currently newest technology. I would go for AMD CPU because I think they have better cost effectiveness then Intel counterparts. Next, the everlasting dilemma ATI or NVidia. If you plan using Linux buy NVidia. They have a lot better Linux drivers. Aside of that there is no some very significant difference between cards from same price tag. I would recommend you 7900 series from NVidia or x1900 from ATI. These are not the newest but are excellent purchase right now. As for other parts buy Asus or Gigabyte motherboard, Corsair RAM and Western Digital hard disk. Of course, do not forget some high quality power supply unit like Chieftec. It can save you a lot of headache later on. |
