I tried doing it on my own, but I can't seem to get it done. It's a 40GB Seagate, and I attach it to an IDE line, the same one going to my primary HDD, but the system won't recognize it. When I go to BIOS setup, I try "Auto Detect", and it says no drive found. Then I try setting it up manually, entering the closest to what I know I've got attached, but no luck. I even tried a different IDE cable, with same results. Am I missign something here?

Just a shot in the dark, but you might be missing something obvious – if you are, don't beat yourself about it, a lot of people overlook this. Depending on which IDE port on the motherboard you're connecting it to, the hard drive should be set up either as master, or as slave; if it's sharing a line with your primary HD, odds are it's connected as a secondary master, so that's what you need to set it up as. There should be jumpers in the back of the drive, under a little diagram showing how they are to be positioned for primary/secondary and master/slave settings.
